A super-fight we hope to see in 2023 is a super middleweight clash between David Benavidez and Caleb Plant.
Add one other person who wants to see that fight, one of Benavidez’s stablemates, and undefeated Matchroom Boxing fighter, Diego Pacheco.
“Yeah, I think it will happen in 2023, because Caleb [Plant] just came off a great win [a knockout of Anthony Dirrell], and I think his confidence is a little up right now,” said Diego Pacheco, who was in Brooks, Ca supporting his brother Federico Pacheco Jr, on a Paco Damian card. “I think if the fight is going to happen right now is the time for it to happen, and David [Benavidez] has been wanting that fight for a very long time.”
Benavidez is scheduled to face former world champion Jose Uzcategui in January. Caleb Plant is coming off a knockout victory over Anthony Dirrell and has no bout scheduled currently.
When I asked Diego Pacheco about the outcome.
“I definitely see David [Benavidez] winning by knockout.”
