The undisputed lightweight world champion Devin Haney is warning Teofimo Lopez that he might just head up to his division next.
At 24-years-old, Haney is letting people know that despite holding all the belts at lightweight, his future will be at 140 lbs., and not as a long-reigning lightweight for years to come.
“Ain’t no match yet. Might just come to 140 and f--- you up,” Haney said in regards to a purposed Vasiliy Lomachenko fight which has been rumored ending with a jest at Teofimo Lopez. “I got work to do here at 140. I pray you enjoyed your five minutes of fame!”
Haney’s 2022 saw him beat George Kambosos Jr., twice in Australia.
“Remember you chose Kambosos to whip your ass instead of me! Went in a different direction and it almost cost you your life. Gotta make smart choices,” said Haney.
