A new player in boxing looks to put on Friday night shows through 2024, which could replace those loyal to the ShoBox programming that will be sunsetting after this year. Red Owl Boxing announced earlier today that they would be doing live shows on DAZN titled BOXFEST, which will begin on December 1. The nine-event series will feature top prospects and future champions that will look to result in action-packed fights while streaming live on DAZ worldwide. The fights will occur from Red Owl’s own “Owl’s Nest,” located out of Houston, Texas.

All nine BOX FEST events will take place on Friday nights at Red Owl Boxing’s “Owl’s Nest” in Houston, a state-of-the-art sports performance facility that features seating for more than 1,500 and a modern flare that includes VIP experiences and unique ringside seating. The “Owl’s Nest” is a full-service hospitality venue with high-end sound, lighting, and screens for a premier in-arena experience. The venue is outfitted with cutting-edge production for seamless streaming and television presentations.
With the exit of Showtime Boxing, there is a void to be filled on Friday nights, so club show promoters who have enough resources put together can find a streaming platform like DAZN to host their events. Boxing needs to support more of these types of shows and others so there is a place where up-and-coming fighters can stay busy and not compete for the same non-televised slots on limited cards. It’ll be interesting to see how Red Owl performs with these shows.
