Daniel DuBois vs. Kevin Lerena Targeted For Nov. 26th

Jake Donovan of BoxingScence.com, was first to report Daniel Dubois is in talks to land a fight against South African heavyweight Kevin Lerena, for Dubois’ form of a WBA heavyweight title, which is rumored to occur on November 26th at the 02 Arena, per Donovan’s report.

Dubois was last seen knocking out Trevor Bryan for Bryan’s WBA heavyweight title in a fourth-round knockout. Dubois in theory should be in the running to land a mandatory fight with Oleksandr Usyk, but in all honesty, Dubois has to do a bit more to get a fight of that magnitude.

Lerena, a southpaw who is 30-years-old from Johannesburg, South Africa, and coming in on a 17-fight win streak since his lone career loss in November of 2014.

Serena has faced world-level competition such as Bogdan Dinu and Mariusz Wach, but this will be the first massive step up of his career. This is Lerena’s third fight outside of South Africa.

Dubois is rebounding from his lone career loss to Joe Joyce, when Joyce stopped him, and elevated Joyce into an elite-level fighter, whereas Dubois got relegated to staying at his level. This will be Dubois’ third fight since his loss to Joyce.
