Michael Conlan faces Jordan Gill tomorrow night at the SSE Arena in Belfast.
Both come off devastating knockout defeats. Conlan was viciously halted in the fourth round by Luis Alberto Lopez in a world title bout this past May. Gill was wiped out by upset artist Kiko Martinez over a year ago, losing his European title.
Conlan (18-2, 9 KOs) recently joined Matchroom having amicably split with Bob Arum’s Top Rank. The Irishman looks to have a third run at a world title after two failed attempts, both by stoppage. Conlan has also made changes to his trainer, switching from Adam Booth to Cuban veteran Pedro Diaz.
Gill (27-2-1, 8 KOs) makes his first appearance in over a year. He was dropped on four separate occasions on his way to being stopped by Martinez in the fourth round.
The pair will collide in a 12 round contest live on DAZN. The two fighters also make the short move up to super featherweight together in the crossroads contest.
Conlan and Gill both weighed in at 129 ½ pounds for their WBA international super featherweight bout.
