Charlo Asks Bivol If He Wants To Fight Him

Jermall Charlo has the WBC middleweight title, despite not fighting for essentially 18 months.

At this weekend’s event, that saw Regis Prograis stop Jose Zepeda to win the WBC 140 lbs world title, saw Charlo call out Bivol for a fight at 168 lbs.

This was strange in a lot of ways. Bivol fights at 175 lbs., Charlo fights at 160 lbs., and beyond that neither has a title at this division despite Charlo seeing the fight would take place for a world title.

FightHype.com captured the moment.

The exchange was simple.

Charlo asked Bivol if he wanted to fight him, Bivol asked at what weight. Charlo gave two different weights, one being 160 one that Bivol simply retorted “c’mon”, and then Charlo said 168 lbs.

Bivol stuck to his guns, and stated that he is interested in obtaining world titles.

The exchange got people talking about two of the most exciting fighters in boxing, and Charlo promised that he’d be back in 2023, as he took all of 2022 off.
