Charles Conwell Wants All The Big Names At 154 lbs

Charles Conwell has been elite for sometime now.

A 2016 Olympian, an undefeated professional fighter, and now the WBC mandatory for Jermell Charlo in 2023.

Yet, the product of Soul City Boxing Gym, Conwell, is looking to face former world champions or the best in the world.

“I think I am ready for the best fighters in the world,” said Conwell to me. “Whether it is Charlo, Danny Garcia or any of the big names I am ready for all of them.”

This past weekend, Conwell defeated Juan Carlos Abreu by majority decision in their 10-rounder Saturday night at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. The story of the fight was a cut that opened over Conwell’s eye, as he stayed composed en route to victory.

“In a perfect world, I would fight for the final eliminator next year, and end the year winning the world title, but I am ready for whatever comes my way.”
