It is safe to say the boxing world has ignored Charles Conwell. At 25-years-old, Conwell is a 2016 U.S. Olympian, undefeated, and just flat-out good.
“I don't think I've really been patient,” Conwell said when speaking to Thomas Gerbasi of BoxingScene.com. “I just think I've been humble and staying quiet because I know my opportunity's gonna come.”
Featured in a WBC semi-final title eliminator for the 154 lbs division against Juan Carlos Abreu on the undercard of Regis Prograis-Jose Zepeda, Conwell views Carson, California, as his coming out party.
“This is a semifinal eliminator, so that's a real big thing. It puts me up in the rankings, and after this, I think there's no going back. It's only up from there,” furthered Conwell.
Conwell looks to fight for a world title in 2023, and vows that this performance will have his name in the mouths of all of the boxing fans worldwide.
