We are two days away from an interesting middleweight clash at the Armory in Minneapolis, MN. The interim WBC champion Carlos Adames (22-1, 17 KOs) will defend his title against former junior middleweight champion Julian Williams (28-3-1, 16 KOs). The Armory has become a frequent venue for Premier Boxing Champions and Showtime as they continue to build the boxing community there.
WILL CARLOS ADAMES CAPTURE THE ATTENTION OF THE MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION ON SATURDAY NIGHT?
With 17 KOs in 22 fights, @BroncoAdames is making a stampede through the division on the way to title contention.

Adames is building his profile, and the 29-year-old Dominican wants to get on the radar of the full WBC champion Jermall Charlo. An impressive victory on Saturday will do just that, but he has to beat Williams first, which won’t be easy. Williams will be smart with his pressure and make Adames think in there, but with Bob Santos in his corner, Adames will be fully prepared for whatever Williams has to offer. Adames can get the fight fans behind him with a big victory, but he must be sharp and pick his spots with Williams. Adames will be the stronger fighter, but it will take him some time to try to stop Williams later in the fight. Can Adames introduce himself as the man to face in the middleweight division on Saturday night?
CAN JULIAN WILLIAMS STILL PUT TOGETHER AN ELITE PERFORMANCE?
That isn’t a simple question, as Williams’ inactivity over the last four years may catch up to him on Saturday night. Williams is an intelligent fighter with an even smarter trainer in Stephen ‘Breadman’ Edwards. The problem is that the current crop of middleweights are big, and Williams really belongs at junior middleweight rather than a middleweight. This is only his second fight in the division, and at 33, he doesn’t have many opportunities left to be in line for a full title shot. If any fighter can do it, it’ll be Williams, but it’s a tough hill to climb facing Adames on Showtime. Williams has a great performance left, but I don’t think it will be enough to keep Adames off for 12 rounds.

CARLOS ADAMES VS. JULIAN WILLIAMS PREDICTION
Although Williams is a great fighter, he is a little small for the middleweight division, and Adames will be too much to handle. Adames won’t score a knockout, but he will find a way to stop Williams around the tenth round.
