Carlos Adames' prediction for Davis vs Garcia fight

Interim WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames (22-1, 17 KOs) is having a hard time making a prediction for tonight’s superfight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia

Speaking to ProBox TV News, Adames said: “Everybody sees Davis beating Garcia easily. I don't see it that way. It's a fight that’s a little difficult for Davis, since Garcia is a tall and long guy, and he doesn’t let himself get trapped that easy. I think it's a very complicated fight and I personally have reserved projections.”

Providing further analysis, El caballo bronco said:

“Well, my recommendation would be for Garcia to maintain his distance, to stay out the way of his [Davis’] hands because his hands are dangerous. If he keeps his face out of danger [Garcia], I think Davis will have a tough fight.”

Although, for many, Davis is still the favourite, Adames sees boxing differently. He was the underdog against Sergiy Derevyanchenko but he was happy to go in without the pressure and won by majority decision.

“I have no favourite,” Adames said, of Tank-Garcia. “None of them are my favourites. I think that fight is 50-50, and it will be very good and difficult at the same time.”
