Carlos Adames: 'All the work has been done”

Carlos Adames (22-1, 17 KOs) looks to rise to the top by defending his WBC Interim title on Showtime against Julian Williams (28-3-1, 16 KOs) tomorrow night.

‘El Caballo Bronco’ had fought Sergiy Derevyanchenko (14-5 10 KOs) towards the end of 2021, who at the time was ranked No. 4 by The Ring, No. 3 by the WBC and No. 14 by the WBA in the middleweight division. Adames demonstrated his pedigree in style, dominating the decorated Derevyanchenko by way of majority decision, with the scorecards reading; 95-95, 93-97, 94-96 in his favour, despite coming into the fight as the underdog. 

Following his win over the tough Ukrainian, Adames mentioned he had gained the attention he deserved “the most I had received in my career” in an exclusive interview with Probox TV News.

The Dominican fully prepared to face one of the most important challenges in his career to date. On July 24, in an event broadcast on Showtime, Adames will defend his WBC Interim middleweight title against Julian Williams. He calls on fight fans to support the new era of El Caballo Bronco and Dominican boxing. “Now we can only wait, the job is done”, Adames declared to Probox TV.

Adames elaborated on his preparation going into the fight this weekend“With regard to training we are very well prepared, we are ready, I feel that everything that was going to be done was done, we are going with all possible focus to the fight, with all possible health, mental and physical, thank God, we can only wait for this Saturday.”

Ahead of his title defence, ‘El Caballo Bronco’ affirmed to his fans “I say to all the fans, support the career of Carlos Adames this Saturday, I would like to face many names, but right now I'm only focused on the fight this Saturday with Julian Williams.”
