Chantelle Cameron is no longer working with Jamie Moore.
The news came at the Josh Taylor-Jack Catterall II press conference in Manchester today, and Moore said the split was amicable, although he was unsure why it happened.
Moore, who trains Catterall, was on-hand in Manchester and was cordial in interviews discussing a range of topics, from his fighters to the biggest names in the sport.
But Moore told Pro Box Boxing Fans: “I have no idea to be honest with you, me and Chantelle aren’t working together anymore. We just decided to go our separate ways.”
Cameron began her career with Shane McGuigan and left to train with Moore in 2019.
They achieved two incredible feats together, with Cameron becoming the undisputed junior welterweight women’s champion when she unified all four belts by defeating Jessica McCaskill, and in her next fight she beat the legendary Katie Taylor in Ireland in defense of her titles.
Cameron won a majority decision, though she lost the rematch last November. Both fights ended as a majority decision for the victor, but they swapped wins.
“We didn’t fall out, I wish her all the best,” said Moore. “I will always love her, we had a great ride together, but we are not working together now.”
Most fans are eager to see the third and assumed final fight between Taylor and Cameron, yet Moore answered quite clearly as to what he knows about that fight.
“I have no idea what is going on with [Katie Taylor versus Chantelle Cameron III,” he said.
Moore previously coached Carl Frampton, Martin Murray, and Rocky Fielding, and he currently trains Jack Catterall, Cameron Vuong, and Aqib Fiaz.
