Jaron Ennis will fight for the IBF interim welterweight world title against the highest-rated IBF welterweight challenger in Karen Chukhadzhian as part of the Showtime Pay-Per-View telecast that will see Gervonta Davis and Hector Luis Garcia taking center stage at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
Ennis is looking the part of a generational superstar, and though unheralded on the world level Chukhadzhian is doing what many others are not, Chukhadzhian accepted the fight.
The reason. Ennis is viewed as a high-risk fighter, one who can beat seemingly anyone in the division, but doesn’t offer the huge paydays that make the risk to a fighters future earning potential worthy of it.
In 2022, Ennis fought a round and a half. Hopefully, he is more active in 2023.
