Bob Arum Believes Eddie Hearn Doesn’t Want Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua

Top Rank Inc head honcho Bob Arum has never been shy about expressing his opinions, and in the build-up to this weekend’s bout between Shakur Stevenson-Robson Conceicao taking place this Friday night at Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey.

“We’ve been exchanging documents with Matchroom,” Arum told one of the best reporters in all of boxing, Keith Idec of BoxingScene.com on Wednesday at the press conference. “We don’t think that Hearn wants to make that fight. We really don’t think he wants to make that fight. We’re giving him every opportunity to make that fight. And if we can’t make it very shortly, Fury will fight somebody else. We have another opponent lined up.”

Over the past week, Joshua’s side has made their intentions clear via tweets, and Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn making it keenly aware - they want the fight. Yet, Arum isn’t quite sure that it isn’t all a clever ruse by Joshua and company.

“I think Hearn knows, like most boxing people know, that all things being equal, that Fury will knock Joshua out,” Arum said. “That Joshua’s very suspect now and very tentative. And he’s still a draw card, so why would you wanna cash in on your draw card? So, I don’t think he’s gonna do it. I think he’s just f***in’ around with the Warrens. We talk with the Warren’s every day because we’re partners, but we’re letting them carry the ball.”

The rumored fight would take place December 3rd at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, with Fury putting his WBC heavyweight title on the line, and Joshua looking to become a three-time heavyweight world champion.

Right now the keyword is "rumored". Nothing is official, it is just being discussed.
