This weekend, we will have afternoon boxing live from the Cosmopolitan on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. Matchroom and DAZN host a welterweight battle between two undefeated fighters as Conor Benn (22-0, 14 KOs) faces Peter Dobson (16-0, 9 KOs). Although DAZN will be streaming live from Las Vegas, this card will be held on Saturday afternoon vice the traditional Saturday night slot for a card in Vegas.
Benn is still on a redemption tour of sorts as the positive test results for PEDs (Performance Enhancing Drugs) still loom over his head, even though he has tried his best to quiet those conversations. Benn fought in September as a last-minute add-on to a card, earning a unanimous decision over Rodolfo Orozco. He will be facing Dobson, and although inactive, he still holds an undefeated record.
Dobson from the Bronx, NY, hasn’t fought in 20 months, and that was against Rodrigo Coria, where he earned a unanimous, eight-round decision victory. Dobson is 33 now, and the question will be whether his inactivity will be too much to overcome against the younger Benn.
