Benavidez vs. Plant PPV Undercard Announced

We now have an undercard as the major marquee clash between David “El Bandera Roja’’ Benavídez and Caleb Plant, the mandatory challenger for Canelo Alvarez’s WBC super middleweight title, which occurs on Saturday, March 25, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions.

The co-feature will see one of the best unbeaten prospects in the sport Jesus Ramos Jr., taking on fellow unbeaten prospect Joey Spencer in a ten-round 154 lbs bout that will set the trajectory for both fighter's career in the short-term, and possibly long-term future.

“Jesús Ramos vs. Joey Spencer will help determine who might be the next star at 154-pounds, while two more young stars also square off on the pay-per-view as Chris Colbert and Jose Valenzuela go toe-to-toe. With Cody Crowley putting his unbeaten record on the line against the upset-minded Abel Ramos in the telecast opener, this card lines up to be a can’t-miss event on March 25 in Las Vegas,” said Tom Brown of TGB Promotions.

Former world title contender Chris Colbert will move up to lightweight after his loss last year to Hector Luis Garcia as he faces Jose “Rayo” Valenzuela, who recently was knocked out by Edwin De Los Santos in the fall of 2022. The winner of this bout will regain momentum in the sport, and the loser will have a stern talk with themselves about what boxing has left for them.

“I am very excited to return on a big card like this David Benavidez vs. Caleb Plant on pay-per-view,” said Jose Valenzuela to FightHype.com. “[Colbert] just came off a loss, I just came off a loss - I’ll be expecting the best Chris Colbert.”

The opening bout which starts the 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST, the pay-per-view portion of the card will see welterweight contender Cody Crowley take on Jesus Ramos Jr.’s uncle, Abel Ramos.

“One thing about me is I love to fight, get me a contract and I will be in the ring to fight,” said Cody Crowley a month ago to Nestor Gibbs of ThaBoxingVoice.com. “[this fight] is a WBC eliminator….everyone in the [welterweight division] top-ten [rankings] should be fighting each other for the number one spot, we got to keep fighting each other to create opportunities. I feel now everyone wants the #1 label so bad they won’t risk anything…I want to fight anyone who makes me better."

Script.

The pay-per-view fight card for David Benavidez vs. Caleb Plant has been announced for March 25th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and it is a good one.

The co-feature will see Jesus Ramos Jr., the unbeaten super welterweight, facing former PBC prospect of the year, undefeated Joey Spencer in a fight that should create a world title contender.

Tom Brown of TGB Promotions had this to say about the fight, Jesús Ramos vs. Joey Spencer will help determine who might be the next star at 154-pounds, as Brown further that young stars like Chris Colbert and Jose Valenzuela going against each other will also be a high-quality bout.

When speaking with FightHype.com, Jose Valenzuela stated to FightHype.com, that [Colbert] just came off a loss, I just came off a loss - I’ll be expecting the best Chris Colbert.

The opening bout will see welterweight Cody Crowley fighting Abel Ramos for the WBC welterweight eliminator to open the card. Abel Ramos is the uncle of Jesus Ramos Jr.
