Alexis Rocha will be bestowed the honor of having the first DAZN card in the United States in 2023, as Jake Donovan of BoxingScene.com has learned that a January 28th, Golden Boy Promotions card will happen pitting him against Anthony Young in the main event at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California.
BoxingScene.com has learned that Golden Boy Promotions and DAZN have finalized plans for a January 28 show, kicking off an aggressive scheduling stretch for the sports streaming platform.
It appears this is a pivot from what might have originally been a date reserved for Ryan Garcia facing Mercito Gesta, until Garcia opted to not take a fight before his assumed next fight against Gervonta Davis.
Rocha, who has been on a roll since losing to Rashidi “Speedy” Ellis is a 25-year-old southpaw, who picked up a marquee win stopping undefeated Blair “The Flair” Cobbs in March 19th of 2022.
Young is most known for stopping former world champion Sadam Ali in the third round of their fight on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs. Daniel Jacobs.
