Alexis Rocha will no longer fight Anthony Young this Saturday, January 28th, and instead will face George Ashie (commonly referred to as Georgie Ashie taking place from YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, and broadcast on DAZN.
Jake Donovan of BoxingScene.com reported the news first.
The new bout will still be a 12-round bout with the WBO-NABO title on the line.
Ashie is a career lightweight who has faced fighters like Kevin Mitchell in a different era, and recently made the move up to welterweight.
With a win, Alexis Rocha could be the most viable fight for Terence Crawford, somehow…as Vergil Ortiz, the #1 contender who has a fight planned for April/May, and the #2 contender Keith Thurman is going to face Errol Spence Jr. Rocha given the WBO welterweight rankings is the highest rated available opponent for Terence Crawford.
