On Friday, we get the return of the man that goes by “The Problem.” Adrien Broner (34-4-1, 24 KOs) returns after a 28-month layoff as he faces Bill Hutchinson (20-2-4, 9 KOs) live from the Casino Miami Jai Alai in Miami, FL. The card is being promoted by Don King, who sent ripples throughout the boxing world when he signed Broner a few months ago and posted a picture with him and stacks of money on the table.
The Broner story is wild, and what turned into a short, failed relationship with BLK Prime, he now turns to the legend King to cash in on whatever fights are there for him to get. What Broner has left is really unknown, but if his last few fights are any indication, this marriage with King will not last long. With that, Broner’s name still carries weight, and Friday, we will see if enough people care to pay to see him live or on PPV.
Hutchinson is a career journeyman who has floated around the club show circuit throughout his career. This is a huge step up in opposition, even with Broner being past the days of “The Can Man.” This is Hutchinson’s opportunity to have a “Rocky” moment, but something tells me he was carefully picked for the assignment and will give Broner rounds without hurting him.
