Sunny Edwards will fight Andres Campos on Saturday, June 10th at the OVO Arena Wembley, as the IBF flyweight world champion will make his Matchroom Boxing, debut live on DAZN.
Edwards has made his intentions clear that after this fight, his target is set on WBC flyweight champion Julio Cesar Martinez and San Antonio's WBO champion Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez.
“There’s nowhere for the other champions to hide now," said Edwards. "One at a time, they will get their turn. What I do is different to anything anyone else does in a boxing ring. The world is waiting, and I think right now I am the number one Flyweight in the world. I would argue that I am one of the best Flyweights in the world.
Edwards is unapologetic with his approach to the flyweight division. It isn't just that he wants to prove he is the best, he doesn't want any one else to have glory while he is around.
As Edwards didn't hold back when it came to his thoughts on Julio Cesar Martinez.
"Boxing is just obsolete because you have these World Champions headlocking World Titles," said Edwards. "[These fighters are] headlocking good contracts and just taking easy fights. That kills the sport."
