EXCLUSIVE: Seniesa Estrada Targets Undisputed Fight With Yoka Valle For The Summer

It was a contrasting weekend as all four of the women’s Strawweight titles were defended on Saturday, March 25th, as the belts were unified in Fresno, California, and the other two defended in Costa Rica. The WBA strawweight champion, Seniesa Estrada, became a unified champion as she battled her way to a one-sided unanimous decision WBC strawweight champion Tina Rupprecht of Germany, in the co-feature on ESPN, this Saturday, March 25th, from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.

Many people might not know that the IBF and WBO strawweight world champion, Yokasta Valle defeated Jessica Basulto Salazar from Club y Hotel Condovac La Costa, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This inevitably leads hope and credence that the next logical fight should be Estrada versus Valle - one that earlier this week Estrada seemed eager to pursue.”

“I tried to make the [Yokasta Valle] years ago,” said Estrada at the Fresno Boys and Girls Club in Fresno, California. “For whatever reasons, we couldn’t make it happen [at the time]. Now [Valle] being with Golden Boy, and me being with Top Rank, my goal [and] target is to go into the undisputed [world title] fight with [Valle] around summertime. I want that fight next.”

It is clear that Estrada is thinking about becoming a four-belt world champion, as she has launched a merchandise line and a YouTube vlog series around the phrase “Road to Undisputed.” Estrada clearly is looking for the champions and explained that the Valle fight was one that she had targeted years back. In her post-fight interview in the ring, Estrada proclaimed that she is looking to become undisputed in multiple divisions before her career is over as well.

“As far as Yoka [Valle] I am not really concerned about her style,” said Estrada. “I am going to go in there and be the best ‘Super Bad’ I can be, be the best me I can be, and I am going to come out undisputed.”

With both fighters having ties to the Los Angeles, California area as Valle trains at times if not all the time in Southern California, and Estrada is born and bred in Los Angeles, California, one might hope that the two can face each other in Los Angeles, California. A big-time fight with a built in audience that might be divided in the outcome could lead to a great atmosphere that makes the moment feel so much larger.

That is the goal to have [the undisputed world title fight] in L.A.,” furthered Estrada. “I have my fans there, the biggest fanbase for me is in L.A., where I am from, and I think we will draw a very good crowd.”
