Seldin says a fight with Adrien Broner is off in IG post

Welterweight contender Cletus Seldin posted on his Instagram that he was in talks to fight Adrien Broner, but the fight, at least for now is off. Seldin, who explained that he was planning on fighting Adrien Broner in a bout scheduled for the end of summer - has seen talks hit a halt.

Seldin, who posted a fight contract from Don King Promotions had the following to say

“Unofrtunately, my next bout against @adrienbroner with @Donking_official was met with a surprising change of course earlier this week,” posted Seldin. "Negotiations were complete, contracts in final review, just waiting on signatures. Instead, Team Seldin received a call on Tuesday that the late summer bout could no longer take place. In professional boxing, unwavering support and guidance are necessary as we navigate through our careers and lives. AB, we wish you well on your journey."

Broner recently defeated Bill Hutchinson in his return to the ring after a two-year hiatus. The win was dominant as Broner won the ten-round fight 99-91 on all three cards. Dismay soon hit Adrien Broner fans when he appeared on The Danza Project appearing to be in a terrible state of consciousness - as it appeared many jumped to the conclusion that substances were used for him to get to this point. This video that surfaced this week went viral.

Now with the news of a bout between Broner and Seldin being postponed makes some wonder if Broner’s appearance on this podcast was a deeper look into his life.

Seldin nicknamed ‘The Hebrew Hammer’, is currently riding a five-fight win streak including wins over Zab Judah and William Silva. Seldin hasn't fought since 2021.
