Ryan Garcia: Not the purse you’re wearing, we’re talking the whole fight purse

Ryan Garcia made his arrival in triumphant fashion. Garcia, did his fight week ceremonial hotel check-in with a fight fan named AJ, who is battling an awful disease that we have named leukemia. The April 22nd, pay-per-view fight against Gervonta Davis, is one of the most exciting fighting for fight fans in recent memory as it pits two unbeaten popular, young fighters against each.

On Monday night, both fighters took to IG live and proclaimed the fight would be a ‘winner take all’ event. As stated on social media, the winner of this contest would get both fighters purses for the event. On Tuesday, Garcia doubled down on that wager. Though nothing has been shown that this is real - more so just bragging rights and internet fodder.

Garcia will have a veteran boxing coach in his corner for his third professional boxing match, after leaving Eddy Reynoso after defeating Luke Campbell. Many have seen growth, maturity, and development in Garcia since training with Goossen, but to also be fair, Garcia has only fought twice since making the switch. This fight will be Garcia’s biggest to date with Goossen as the lead voice in the corner.

“I got so much experience next to me [with Joe Goossen], been in the game for twenty-plus years, hall-of-fame coach, you could imagine what that brings to the table,” said Garcia. “I’m just thankful and blessed to have a man like that in my corner.”

As for the fight result, Garcia doubled down once again. Garcia explained that the fight will end by way of knockout and that it will happen quickly.

“In the blink of an eye, it will be finished,” stated Garcia. That’s what’s going to happen. Everybody will be shocked. Nobody will have anything to say. No words will be spoken.”
