Ryan Garcia rumored to have contacted former trainer Eddy Reynoso

Ryan Garcia has had quite a two-week span. It must have felt like he has been in a never-ending fight camp even without the training, as after being stopped with a body shot in the seventh round by Gervonta Davis the theatrics came after referee Thomas Taylor's administered ten-count.

First, it was the notable absence of his trainer, Joe Goossen, who was announced recently that he had parted ways with, then it was the observation that neither Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya nor executive Bernard Hopkins was there as well.

With all of the boxing world looking around and wondering who Garcia might next train with, Salvador Rodriguez of ESPN.com reported that Ryan Garcia has now contacted Eddy Reynoso about training him again, following his recent loss.

Via a rough translation of Rodriguez's tweet using Twitter's translate tool it says the following.

The tandem of Garcia and Reynoso started working together in late 2018 after Garcia came off back-to-back shaky performances to Jayson Velez and then a majority decision win over Carlos Morales. Reynoso would train Garcia. The team would have four fights with each other spanning from December 2018 until February 2020, a month before the COVID-19 pandemic.

In that time, Garcia won all of his fights by knockout or technical knockout, in December 2018, Garcia knocked out Braulio Rodriguez in five rounds, in March of 2019 Garcia knocked out Jose Lopez in two rounds, in November of 2019 Garcia knocked out fringe-contender Romero Duno in one round, and in February 2020 got a first-round knockout of Francisco Fonsecea.

Many fight fans feel that was the most impressive run of Garcia's career, but after the COVID-19 pandemic, Garcia began to train with Goossen for their three-fight run.

Reynoso has worked with Canelo Alvarez for Canelo's whole career, as well as Frank Sanchez, Oscar Valdez, and many other well-regarded fighters
