Richard Torrez Jr., Out With Injury From March 25th, ESPN Card

2020 U.S. Olympic Silver Medalist Richard Torrez Jr., will have to wait for his homecoming once again, as the phenom fighter from Tulare, California, had to withdraw from his upcoming fight, with Willie Jake Jr., today. Torrez was originally slated to fight next Saturday, March 25th, at the SaveMart Center in Fresno, California.

The fight would have marked Torrez Jr.’s first fight in his home area of Fresno, California, since Torrez Jr.’s pro debut against Allen Melson on March 3rd, 2022. Since that fight Torrez has fought four times.

The card will still proceed as planned with former WBC super lightweight world champion Jose Ramirez facing Richard Commey in the main event, and Seniesa Estrada will look to defend her WBA and WBC minimumweight world titles against Tina Rupprecht in the co-main event.

No word on who will be elevated to open the broadcast as of now.
