In front of a packed crowd at the ProBox Events, in Plant City, Flordia, as one of the best fights of the year occurred as we saw super middleweights Manuel Gallegos and Richard Vansiclen fight to a majority draw with the judges scoring the bout 95-95 on two cards and one judge having it 96-94 for Gallegos.
In typically, ProBox TV fashion, the bout was one of the most evenly contested fights of the year, as both fighters had their moments with the fans being the true winners in the end.
“ I felt I won the fight I made him miss I landed the better work,” said Vansiclen. “I can’t believe I didn’t get the decision.”
In the co-main event, Darrelle Valsaint got a unanimous decision over the always-game Lucas de Abreu with the scores being 59-55, 59-55, and 58-56.
“It was good rounds against a good opponent,” said Darrelle Valsaint. “I felt I was getting stronger as the fight went on. I’m looking forward to getting back.”
The undercard saw Najee Lopez fighting at lightweight as a success as he got a six-round decision over Cristian Rios, junior middleweight Marques Valle got a six-round decision over Jarrod Tennant, and Derek Cintron was tested en route to a unanimous decision.
“He was awkward and didn’t want to engage,” said Najee Lopez after the fight. “I felt strong down at a new weight, and I want to put on some explosive performances this year.”
