Oscar De La Hoya, the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, is making headlines, yet again, as he took to the internet to let the world know he’d like to reunite with a fighter that he helped promote during his rise to the top of the sport of boxing, with that fighter being Adrien “The Problem” Broner
Broner, fought most of his early career with Golden Boy Promotions, as Golden Boy Promotions promoted Broner on HBO and Showtime. Broner left the promotional outfit when Premier Boxing Champions, launched on March 7th, 2015, in which Broner was the first fight on their first telecast defeating John Molina Jr., as the fight was broadcast on primetime on NBC, a standard television channel.
“@AdrienBroner,” said Oscar De La Hoya tweeting directly to Broner on Twitter on March 1st. “would love to promote you.”
Though BLK Prime has not commented on Broner any longer being aligned, but Broner recently took his Instagram to let the world know he is no longer being represented by BLK Prime, as it appears his failed February 25th between Michael Williams Jr., seemingly saw the end of their partnership. The news comes as a shock as Broner had stated himself that he was going to land multiple millions of dollars by fighting three times in 2023, on BLK Prime pay-per-view.
“I'm just going to come out and let everybody know. Me and BLK Prime have decided to part ways [SIC],” Broner stated in a video recording on Instagram. “There is no bad blood. They just couldn't deliver everything that I needed at this point of my career. Right now I am in tip-top shape. I got myself in shape.”
De Le Hoya has previously made mentioned trying to attract Terence Crawford to Golden Boy Promotions earlier this year, as De La Hoya appears to be actively pursuing big fights for his company in 2023.
"@AdrienBroner would love to promote you,” furthered De La Hoya via Twitter. “…and have you prove to the world that you are the American dream!!!”
