Junto Nakatani is now a two-division world champion. Beyond that his twelfth-round knockout of Andrew Moloney might also be the knockout of the year.
Immediately after the result, Nakatani let it be known what he wants in the future.
“I think this win opens up a big road for me," said Nakatani. "I want unification fights. It can be against anybody. It can be with [Juan Francisco] Estrada or anybody.”
Juan Francisco Estrada holds two wins over Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez and is widely considered the best junior bantamweight of the modern era. Nakatani apparently has his eyes set on the best, and nothing less.
Nakantani stopped Moloney with an overland left in the twelfth that ended the fight with the time of stoppage being 2:42 of the final round.
