A slew of fighters would like to fight Ryan Garcia, and now add former world champion, Jorge Linares to that list.
Garcia who is coming off a seventh-round knockout loss to Gervonta Davis, is still viewed as one of the biggest stars in the sport of boxing, and the 37-year-old world champion now wants next.
Ryan Garcia has never gotten his hands on a world title, nor has he even competed for one. However, his lack of championship hardware hasn’t stopped Jorge Linares from publicly calling him out.
“He come from a loss," said Linares when talking to Hans Themistode of BoxingScene.com."I come from a loss, so this is the best time to make the fight,” said Linares when talking to Hans Themistode of BoxingScene.com.
Linares is coming off a rough stretch in which he has lost to Devin Haney, was knocked out by Zaur Abdullaev, and lost a ten-round decision to Zhora Hamazaryan. This is the first three-fight losing streak of Linares' career.
"I respect his talent, he has talent," said Linares. "I’m trying to make amazing fights with the best super lightweights. So I think this is the best moment to make the fight with Garcia.”
