Jaron "Boots" Ennis finally has a return date to the ring it appears.
Ennis will look to defend his IBF interim welterweight world title against Roiman Villa next month, on July 8th, in a Showtime main event as first reported by Keith Idec of BoxingScene.com. The venue appears to be the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Both fighters fought on January 7th of this year as part of the pay-per-view undercard of Gervonta Davis versus Hector Luis Garcia.
Ennis fought to a twelve-round unanimous decision victory over Karen Chukhadzhian, which seemingly shocked all in attendance as Ennis was riding a nineteen-fight knockout streak with a no-contest thrown in the mix as well.
Villa pulled off an upset over Rashidi Ellis which saw a pair of late-round knockdowns edge the fight in his favor on two of the three scorecards.
