IBF Orders Esquiva Falcao vs. Vincenzo Gualtieri, For IBF Middleweight Titlte

Jake Donovan of BoxingScene.com, was the first to report that the IBF has ordered a vacant world title fight between Esquiva Falcao and Vincenzo Gualtieri, as the two fighters have 30 days to come to terms with the fight. This comes on the heels of Gennadiy Golovkin, vacating the IBF title, against the #1 contender, Esquiva Falcao.

Falcao is currently promoted by Top Rank Inc., and became the #1 contender in November of 2021 when he defeated Patrice Volny on the Terence Crawford vs. Shawn Porter pay-per-view undercard.

Meanwhile, Vincenzo Gualtieri has spent his career as a regional attraction fighting in Germany with no notable wins thus far on the world-class level. The news comes on the heels of Michael Zerafa, who was originally set to face Esquiva Falcao opting to fight Erislandy Lara for the vacant WBA middleweight title.
