Haney Warns Loma, "It'll Only Be Worse Now"

Devin Haney went to Australia to defeat George Kambosos Jnr., and do it so easily, Haney didn’t get the credit he deserved for it. Now, Haney is back, better than ever, so it seems as he is well underway for his upcoming camp to face Vasiliy Lomachenko on Saturday, May 20, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, live on ESPN pay-per-view.

The fight which has been alleged to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, will see Haney once again, chase legacy and greatness, as he had a stern warning for Lomachenko and those who doubt him entering this legacy fight.

Haney is now well underway with training camp as he will look to defend his titles in his adopted hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada, as this will be his first undisputed title defense since winning all four world titles. Haney who is hinting at moving up after this fight is ready to push aside his own comforts in order to make a fight with Lomachenko.

“At the end of the day, I’ve got the undisputed title now,” proclaimed Haney. “I want to knock [each contender down] one by one. Of course, everyone knows it is hard for me to make the weight, it is not the easiest for me to make the weight, but I am sacrificing to fight somebody that I have been wanting to fight, someone who they said…was the closest thing to Muhammad Ali, something like that, they said he was the matrix, [Lomachenko] was unbeatable, mentioned with the greats and all that. I am choosing to stay at the weight class and fight him.”

Haney has been calling for a Lomachenko fight for at least four years now, and finally, the fight is being made - and Haney is clear in that feels Lomachenko waited far too long.

“A long time ago I said Loma needs to fight me now because it is only going to get worse,” said Haney to FightHype.com. “The world will see - what I would’ve did to him, it will be worse this time [SIC].
