Shadasia Green to Franchon Crews-Dezurn: 'Do you remember spitting on me?'

Shadasia Green may have been the best kept secret in boxing. That was, unti,l Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions signed her.

Green (13-0, 11 KOs) fights for her first world title, the WBC women’s super middleweight world title against Franchon Crews-Dezurn (8-0, 2 KOs) on Friday, December 15.

The bout broadcast on DAZN, sees the undefeated 34-year-old Green look to fulfill her destiny as one of the modern greats.

Green has eleven knockout in thirteen pro fights — a knockout ratio that is as rare in women’s boxing as it is high.

The former college basketball player with a passion for boxing now gets her big fight. She faces a former world champion, Crews-Dezurn, 36-year-old, who is one of the most underrated of her era in the sport. Yet, forgiveness was the theme of this press conference on Wednesday to promote their upcoming bout.

“Do you remember spitting on me,” questioned Green at the press conference to her upcoming opponent, Crews-Dezurn.

“I have forgiven Franchon for everything she has done in the past,” said Green during the press conference. “So I can compete with a level head. She [knows] what she did as far as upcoming to this event. Doesn’t matter anymore the contract is signed, and the belt is on the line, and here we are.”

“Not to take anything away from Franchon Crews, she is a great fighter. Respects to her and what she has done for the sport…what she does do well, she is good at it, but I am a boxer and a puncher, and my record shows that. I have the technical skills, the technical abilities, I can do it all.

Green has stated that she feels avoided. If she wins this bout, big fights loom. Savannah Marshall had to vacate the WBC super middleweight title due to an injury. She beat Crews-Dezurn prior. That makes for a good fight. Yet, the whispers are out there for a dream match-up of Green versus Claressa Shields. Shields turned pro against Crews-Dezurn. This is a comparable opponent for two of the biggest fights she could potentially have in the future.

It is also clear that a lingering beef and incident between the two has made this fight meaningful for Green. Green nicknamed ‘The Sweet Terminator’, alluded to what she expects the outcome to be on Friday night.

“I don’t want anything [from you]. I want you to step into the ring Friday night, December 15th, and I am praying to God that you are at your best, and we will put on a show. Thank you!”
