Gervonta Davis Is Leaving Family At Home For Ryan Garcia Fight "It Could Get Ugly"

Gervonta Davis is doing his part to promote his upcoming April 22nd fight as faces fellow unbeaten lightweight Ryan Garcia, live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and broadcast worldwide on pay-per-view.

Davis, who has transcended boxing as he is a fixture in urban culture from fashion to hip hop, recently was featured on content created by Complex. The topic was an untraditional one - family. The interviewer asked Davis if his family would be at the fight next Saturday.

Davis, who has had a grueling training camp in Las Vegas, Nevada, seemingly is as focused as ever. In the past, Davis has at times seen his attention focused outside of the ring. For example, in his last fight, Davis was watching famous rapper Meek Mill get into an incident with another boxer, or when he stopped Rolando Romero, Davis was often looking towards his mother. In this fight, that won’t happen. Could this be a sign this is the most focused Gervonta Davis ever?

“Let the men handle business,” stated Davis to Complex. “Yeah, even my [mom is staying] home.”

As the fight gets closer, the reality of the fight seems to be drawing nearing for both parties involved as both Davis and Garcia are showing more respect to each other than expected. Now as we enter mere days away from the mega-fight Davis candidly reflected upon the fight in the most sincere tone.

“No, it can get ugly,” furthered Davis to the interviewer.  “This is strictly business on both sides. This is a 50-50 fight.”
