Gervonta Davis “My Main Focus Is Getting The Job Done!”

We are mere weeks away from the planned April 22nd, pay-per-view mega-fight between Gerovnta Davis and Ryan Garcia, which will take place at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Davis held a media workout last night at 6 PM PST prior to the fight.

The workout gave very little away about Davis’ preparation as he seemingly went through the motions so media companies could create content to promote his upcoming super-fight, but one thing that stood out was his focus. From shadowboxing to running on a treadmill, Davis was never once distracted, something that Ray Flores noted when speaking to Davis afterward.

Davis, who is nearing the point to being the biggest name in the sport of boxing behind Canelo Alvarez and Tyson Fury, is now integrating a message with his workout as well. A shirt that seemingly showed the symbol commonly thought of as a symbol for the Black Panther party was his workout shirt rather than a sponsor, for those unaware that is a black clinched fist. Davis, who is from a lower-socioeconomic background, is focused on inspiring people who he feels he represents.

Just coming from where I come from, not just Baltimore, [to represent] the people who come from where I come from, the background I had…[I take pride in representing] for people like me,” furthered Davis. “I am trying to give [people who come from where I come from] hope…your future is bright, just stay on a great path, continue to stay focused.”

Finally, Davis, who has some comparisons to Aaron Pryor, is finally getting his big fight that stops the world on the earth’s axis, as Davis was a bit taken back by the fact that legends are enjoying that this fight was made.

“It would mean a lot [to beat Ryan Garcia],” Davis concluded. “We have legends talking about this fight, like Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather, Mike Tyson, we just have so many [legends] that are tuned into this fight.”
