Errol Spence Jr Says He Bet 20k on Tank Davis

Earlier this week it was reported that Jermall Charlo, the current WBC middleweight world champion, had bet ten thousand dollars on Ryan Garcia in his pay-per-view fight against Gervonta Davis this Saturday, April 22nd, at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Now, Errol Spence Jr., the WBC, WBA, and IBF welterweight world champion has upped the ante as the superstar boxer has doubled the amount of the wager as Spence put twenty-thousand on Gervonta “Tank” Davis, at least according to a recent tweet made by the champion boxer.

This comes on the heels of Jermall Charlo who has been championing the cause of Ryan Garcia for some time now - as in Charlo’s own words, ‘he is a fan of the underdog.’ Charlo might not be fully confident in the result of the fight, but he like many of us, is showing he is a fan of the sport first and foremost and is showing support to Ryan Garcia.

"I'm always going for the underdog, [and] Ryan [is] definitely the underdog in this fight,” said Jermall Charlo in a media scrum last month during the David Benavidez vs Caleb Plant pay-per-view fight week festivities. “I just like the underdog...it has nothing to do with personally with Ryan or [with] you know race or black, I don't care about none of that. I just like the underdog, I think [it] is Ryan chance to do what he got to do, but I do I think he'll beat Tank 'No', but who am I going for ‘Ryan!’”

I am not sure anyone saw this coming, but Jermall Charlo during the early build-up to this fight has been one of Ryan Garcia’s biggest supporters, thus far. An interesting plot twist.

As of now, Spence has not shown his betting slip online, which many users have called for.
