Fundora vs. Mendoza Weigh-In Results

The main attraction for Saturday night's Showtime boxing telecast saw both Sebastian Fundora and Brian Mendoza make weight comfortably. Fundora, who towers over every opponent, stands, 6ft 6ins, yet somehow came in at 153.3 lbs., whereas Mendoza was just a tad bit heavier 153.5 lbs.

The two are set to compete in a 12-round main event tomorrow for a secondary version of the WBC junior middleweight world title, with the action beginning at 10 PM EST / 7 PM PST, on Showtime, live from the Dignity Health Sports Park, Carson, California.

The co-feature will see a battle of junior welterweights as local favorite Brandun Lee weighed in at 141.3 lbs, and his opponent, Pedro Campa 141.2 lbs, for their bout scheduled for ten rounds.

“Anybody can get it. I’m ready for the best fighters at 140 pounds. I’m in this sport to become a world champion. When the moment comes, I’ll go after that world title,” said Lee. “Styles make fights, so I’m not going to look at what Teofimo Lopez did against Campa. I’m bringing my own style and Campa is going to see something that he hasn’t seen before. I’m only focused on getting the win.

The television opener will see a featherweight contest between Luis Nunez 125.9 lbs, and Christian Olivo 125.4, in a ten-round bout.

“The last time I had a Mexican fighter saying that he’s from a storied Mexican boxing background, I made him eat his words. I have a feeling the same thing is happening this time around, or it might be even worse for him. You’ll have to tune in and see,” said Nunez. “I feel both mentally and physically ready. I feel great. It’s gonna be a battle, but I’m ready for everything. This was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up, so I’m going to do my best to give everyone a great show when I get into the ring.”

The main attraction of the Showtime Sports YouTube prelims will see former world champion Devon Alexander 152, competing in a ten-round junior middleweight bout as he faces undefeated Gabriel Maestre who weighed 150.1 lbs, also an interesting L.A. lightweight bout will see Jerry Perez, 134.9 lbs, Adrian Corona, 134.3 lbs., in a bout scheduled for eight-rounds and top-ten heavyweight Frank Sanchez came in at 247.4 lbs, as he will face Daniel Martz, 275 lbs, in a scheduled ten-round fight.
