We have a new date for Stephen Fulton versus “The Monster” Naoya Inoue, as the fight will now take place, Tuesday, July 25th, Ariake Arena in Tokyo, as put out a viral social media blast from Top Rank Inc., who co-promotes Inoue.
The bout originally set for May 7th, was postponed when Inoue was forced to withdraw due to an injury that has not been made public.
Fulton will look to defend his unified WBO and WBC super bantamweight world titles, against Inoue, who by most accounts is probably already a hall-of-famer, given his impressive run in the lower weight classes so far.
“This fight [with Naoya Inoue] is for myself, I don’t care what anybody say, I don’t care about the rankings,” said Stephen Fulton Jr., when on Brian Custer’s The Last Stand Podcast when talking about this fight. "I am about to go out there and defend my [world] title, that’s major. I owe all that to myself, I need to be thanking myself for making [this fight] happen."
