Derek “Bozy” Ennis Urges Crawford To Fight Jaron Ennis: “Call Us”

Trainer Derek "Bozy" Ennis is not impressed with the perception of Terrance Crawford's reluctance to fight his fighter & son, Jaron Ennis. Jaron, the interim IBF welterweight title holder, is seeking a fight which will well and truly put him in the spotlight, which his undoubted talent deserves something which Bozy Ennis is seeking in 2023. Bozy's frustration on behalf of Crawford is regarding the Omaha native seeking to fight his mandatory challenger instead of his son. In recent days Crawford was ordered by the WBO to defend his title against Alexis Rocha following Crawford's last appearance in December, in which he defeated David Avanesyan inside six rounds.

Crawford currently has no promotional ties or exclusive agreements with a network which would make negotiations between Crawford and Jaron Ennis more appealing and flexible on paper. Derek Ennis does not believe that Crawford is disrespectful of Jaron. However, when speaking to boxingscene.com, he feels Jaron is "High-Risk and Low Reward, they going around us. Why y'all not gonna take us? Fight us."

However, things might be more complicated if the speculation of Errol Spence Jr has rekindled talks between himself and Crawford. The unified welterweight champion, Spence Jr, has been a target of Crawford for several years, with one stumbling block or another previously scuppering attempts to make that fight. Jaron Ennis could gatecrash that particular fight following his status as IBF interim title holder, which puts him in an optimum position to fight Errol Spence Jr.

Jaron Ennis, is speculated to face Roiman Villa in his next outing. However, it should be noted, that could change if the IBF mandates Spence Jr to face him following Ennis's interim champion status.
