De La Hoya: "Ryan and Teo would be a lot of fun"

Ryan Garcia's next fight has been announced, but that hasn't stopped his promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, from having visions of grandiose about what could be next for Garcia after his December 2nd fight with Oscar Duarte, which will be live on DAZN.

Roughly two weeks ago, De La Hoya, talked to Fight Hub TV and expressed interest in a 'super-fight.' One such super-fight could be a potential clash between the WBO junior welterweight champion, Teofimo Lopez, against De La Hoya's biggest star, Garcia.

"Ryan and Teo would be a lot of fun,” said Oscar De La Hoya to Fight Hub TV.

It appears Teofimo Lopez is no longer fighting on his traditional December fight date as the Top Rank Inc. show on December 9th appears to be in Florida this year and headlined by the WBO featherweight world champion, Robeisy Ramirez. With rumors of Teofimo Lopez and Gervonta Davis potentially in talks for a Super Bowl weekend fight card, a strong performance from Garcia could set the stage for a 'big money' fight between Lopez and Garcia.

Earlier this week, Garcia had this to say about his upcoming fight with Duarte, which will mark his first fight since his pay-per-view knockout loss to Gervonta Davis, which did a very large gate as well as pay-per-view buys.

“Let’s go! I am so excited to announce that I will be fighting Oscar Duarte on December 2,” said Ryan Garcia. “I’m back and feeling better and stronger than before. I wanted Duarte for me and for the fans. He’s tough and I’m ready to give people another show at my best weight again. Say whatever you want about Ryan Garcia, but I’m always going to give the fans what they want. Love you. See you December 2 on DAZN. Location and ticketing will be announced soon.”

Regardless of accolades and the fact that Garcia has yet to win a world title, he is a major draw. Garcia has built a social media following and now has turned that social media following into dollars. Garcia versus any well-accomplished fighter is big business and despite Garcia being matched tough against Duarte,
