Terence Crawford says the fight with Canelo Alvarez is the biggest in the sport

Terence Crawford knows a fight between himself and Canelo Alvarez is big business.

The two-division undisputed world champion took to the social media app, X, to sound off.

"Terence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez is the biggest fight in boxing right now,” Crawford wrote. “Like it or not it’s just facts.”

For the fight to happen, Crawford would have to move up as many as three weight classes. Crawford turned pro at lightweight. He won a world title in that division but became undisputed at junior-welterweight and welterweight. Canelo has currently campaigned at super-middleweight or higher since November 2019.

Crawford, aged 36, with a record of 40-0, 31 KOs, believes he can defeat Canelo, who is an undisputed champion in the super-middleweight division.

“I’m not scared and I most definitely believe in myself even if no one else does,” said Crawford.

If Crawford were able to pull off the victory, it would be historic because he would become the first-ever three-division undisputed world champion.

Crawford made a reference to a popular children’s cartoon, Dragon Ball Z when referencing how he performed, “Ima go super saiyan blue ultra instinct,” he wrote.
