Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo Live NYC Press Conference live stream

Time: 1 PM EST / 10 AM PST, on Tuesday August 15th

Today will be the first of consecutive press conferences as Mexican boxing superstar and undisputed super middleweight world champion, Canelo Álvarez will face fellow undisputed champion, Jermell Charlo, who holds the undisputed junior middleweight world champion crown. The much-anticipated event is set to take place on Saturday, September 30, headlining a thrilling SHOWTIME PPV® card at the iconic T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Today's press conference will take place in New York City, and be the first time both fighters are face-to-face at an official event.

More Information on Both Fighters

Canelo Álvarez, who at one time was viewed as the best fighter in the sport, is continuing his journey in the sport of boxing. Alvarez is a four-division world champion, who holds every world title in the super middleweight division.

On the other side of the ring stands Jermell Charlo, a knockout artist who has left a trail of devastation in the junior middleweight division, that has seen him become the best 154 lbs fighter of this era. Charlo is moving up two weight classes to pursue greatness in facing Canelo Alvarez.

A Dual-Title Extravaganza

The big tagline of this pay-per-view event will see two undisputed world champions facing each other even though only Canelo's titles will be on the line.

The bout carries an added significance as it marks the first time in recent memory that two undisputed champions from different weight classes will step into the ring to determine a unified champion in a higher division.

To Be Shown In Midtown Manhattan

The two billboards, one facing south above the 44th street entrance, the other facing north at the 45th street entrance, will air highlights of Canelo and Charlo’s best fights starting at 12 p.m., leading into the 1 p.m. press conference. The two video displays will then air more highlights of both fighters from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. following the presser. It’s the second time that SHOWTIME® has live-streamed a boxing press event atop a Times Square billboard, following the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford kickoff press conference in June.
