In the main event of the prelims, 2012 Olympian Terrell Gausha stopped Brandyn Lynch to conclude the Showtime Sports YouTube channel card, taking place at the Toyota Arena, in Ontario, California. Gausha used his experience and a well-placed right-hand to drop Lynch, as Lynch was dropped two more times with the third knockdown being the one that saw the contest halted.
For Gausha, this was a marquee win as he was coming off a year lay-off after losing to Tim Tszyu last year. With a win, Gausha gives himself new light in the 154 lbs division as he still holds a credible name in the division, and is a very solid puncher when he chooses to let his hands go.
The time of the stoppage was 0:50, in round nine
The second fight of the prelims saw welterweight Travon Marshall make a huge statement as he stopped Justin DeLoach Dock, who came slightly heavy at the weigh-in the day prior, in the third round when a right-hand floored DeLoach Dock. Despite some roughhouse tactics by DeLoach Dock, Marshall used a slew of great body shots to change the motivations of DeLoach Dock, who round-by-round found less reason to be in the fight.
The time of the stoppage was 2:07, in round three.
The opening fight of the prelims saw the underdog pull off an upset as Samuel Teah defeated previously unbeaten Enrico Gogkhia in an eight-round bout that started the Showtime Sports YouTube stream. The story of the fight was simple, Gogokhia couldn’t find his range, and when he missed Teah was there to respond, time and time, again. Teah was accredited with a knockdown in the first round, which may or may not be a knockdown, but regardless the outcome was never in doubt.
The judges scored the bout 78-73 (x2), and 79-72.
