It didn't take long.
Super middleweight Erik Bazinyan (32-0, 23 KOs) knocked out Billi Facundo Godoy (41-7, 20 KOs)in the third round of their Thursday night bout at Casino de Montréal in Montreal, Canada.
Bazinyan has the good fortune of being ranked in the top five of all the major sanctioning bodies.
He is ranked No.2 by the WBA at super middleweight with Christian Mbilli, who shares his same promoter, Eye of the Tiger, listed above him as No.1.
The 28-year-old power-puncher mauled his 37-year-old opponent. Bazinyan also towered over Godoy, as he stands at six-feet and one inch in the ring.
The bout saw Bazinyan pressure his opponent until he dropped him in the third round.
He gave a subtle wink upon landing the brutal combination that looked a bit like what David Lemieux used to do.
Godoy couldn’t get to his feet.
The time of stoppage was 2:23. It was all over.
